Sexual assault of minors under the POCSO Act accounted for 61% of total rape cases registered in Mumbai from 2018 to 2022, according to a report by the NGO Praja Foundation. Out of 3,360 POCSO Act Cases being probed by the city police in 2022, a total of 2,438 cases (73%) were pending investigation at the end of the year, the report showed.
